All
Colorado nursing homes or "Skilled Nursing
Facilities" are licensed by the state through
the Health Facilities Division. Nursing
homes provide services to residents who
require continuous medical and nursing care
and supervision due to physical and/or mental
disability.There are about 234 nursing homes
in Colorado with close to 18,000 residents.
Nursing homes are operated by for-profit
and non-profit organizations. They are found
throughout the State through the Facility
Information Center and the Health
Facilities Division Home Page,
State of Colorado. You have access
to ownership information, Ombudsman information,
results of surveys and complaint investigations
and summaries of occurrences that have been
reported to the Division.
