Motor Vehicle Registration Alert
A passenger motor vehicle, motor home or motorcycle may not be registered in Colorado without the applicant providing proof of insurance.
The proof required may be the insurance certificate or insurance identification card, both of which must be provided to the applicant by the applicant's insurance company. A copy of the following may also be accepted as proof: A letter from the applicant's insurance agent (on the insurance company's letterhead), the declaration page from the insurance policy, an insurance binder or policy, or proof of self insurance as provided by law.
